I could cry...

I've been so busy with school that I haven't had much time to do much. I was getting back into water color only to find that I suck at it now. I stopped taking lessons for more free time but now I'm regreting it. I've been out of practise and now I suck and I'm could cry because that's one talent I can no longer say I have.

My drawings have been mere chicken scratches and messy doodles that I don't consider good at all. I'm glad I didn't take art because they would just laugh at me...

Oh gawd, I'm getting as emo as Bos now D:

Would you like to join me in the emo corner and do emo things my good friend?

Imma gonna beat the crap out of you for trying to out emo me XDD;;

Have you every thought that your problem may just be that I have the light puck right now? I also bought water colour pencils and am experimenting with them, so I may just be stealing your muse or something. I DON'T KNOW. It sounds stupid, but it's us, and we usually find that we can't draw when the other's into drawing.

THAT BEING SAID, I HAVE TO GIVE ANOTHER DAMN CONFIDENCE RANT, WHICH IS GOING TO RESULT IN ME BEATING THE CRAP OUT OF YOU AGAIN, BECAUSE I CLEARLY REMEMBER SAYING, "GAWD, THE NEXT PERSON I'M GOING TO BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF THE NEXT PERSON I HAVE TO GIVE A CONFIDENCE RANT TO!!!"

And luckily, I know where you live. So it'll make things easier. XDD;;

Firstly, Key Word: " ... that I,/b> don't consider good at all."

Of course, if you don't enjoy your art, then it's not really satisfying. Just just be aware that you see things different than others do in your own artwork.

Secondly, there is no such thing as talent. Well, perhaps there is. But, basically, the definition of talent is, from what I hear everyone talking about it is;

The ability to be able to do something perfect naturally.

Since no one, that I know of, is able to draw perfectly naturally, I think it's nearly impossible. Yet all I hear is, "Oh, I can't draw. I don't have any talent. D=" And if you're going to keep thinking like that, then there is no point in me giving you advice. Or doing anything.

The only way to improve is to practise. Also, if you really want to improve your works, then you should ask for constructive criticism on your work. People aren't trying to be mean. They're trying to help you. If they were trying to be mean, they wouldn't be giving you advise, they'd be saying things like, "This really sucks. I don't like it," or, "You smell of poo."

And often, when people give constructive criticism, they are actually afraid of offending you. So, if you do opt to recieve constructive criticism, think of what they're trying to say, and then put yourself in their shoes for a moment. They're trying to help you improve, as they are trying to improve. Sure, you may have spent a lot of time on a work, and then read things like, "The hands are too small," or "the proportions are a bit off," and it may hurt a little, because you were certain you had gotten it right that time. But they're trying to help you improve. They're not necessarily saying your artwork was horrible, and most likely aren't. They are just pointing out things that may need improving.

You even see things in your favorite anime and manga that are off, but their artwork still looks amazing. It doesn't necessarily mean that your artwork is horrible. It means that maybe you should try and keep it in mind for next time. I don't think once, from a person I've recieved advice from on DA, I've ever had anyone insult my artwork.

I think it's a great thing, and you don't have to get it if you don't want to. I know that I wouldn't have improved as much as I have without people giving me constructive criticism.

( LOL, I'm actually literally crying of happiness right now thinking of people who;ve helped me. XDDD; )

If you do opt to ask for constructive criticism, remember;

1. They're trying to help you out, not insult you

2. Take everything with a grain of salt; what people are saying may just be a personal opinion. But that doesn't mean that you should throw away everything they say, either.

But, you can completely ignore all of that if you want to. XDD;;

You may also doing worse at the moment because you're stressed out about school. It's been proven that people don't draw quite as well when they're under stress. And everyone has their down times. The greatest artists have their down moments. And not everything that you attempt is going to turn out right. Just keep trying.

Also, trying drawing when you feel inspired, not just when, "Okay, I should draw now..."

Listening to music, playing a game, or watching an anime may also help you preform better when drawing.

And practise lots. You don't get better at drawing just by thinking about it. And maybe spend a little bit more time working on details. If you want. And maybe, just for now, don't try drawing well. Just doodle. Don't think "Oh, this looks like crap." Or anything. Just doodle. and don't care what you draw.

I usually just go to Shoppers and go to the make-up display and doodle on my hand with the eye liner, or whatever the hell they are, testers they have there. XDD; They have really nice colours, and they're shiny, and really swishy, and make really good swirls. Just be careful of Debbie, or whats-her-name. She's a really good saleslady person. She made me buy extremely expensive stuff that I don't even plan on using. I'm such a fucking pushover... ._.

BUT YESH, BEWARE! Just say that you're looking if you ever do try it. XDD

I doubt this helped at all. Sorry ;;DX

Thanks to university, I am no longer a person, but rather, a mass of fatty substance prone to narcolepsy.
